Learning Outcome 5 & 6: MLA and Local Revision
For learning outcome 5 and 6 I focused mostly on my MLA citations. Learning outcome 5 is to focus on MLA guidelines; learning outcome 6 was focused on local revisions. I specifically focused on them in my Big Data paper. It was confusing on how to cite sources that had come from a database, so I wanted to work on that. I did eventually learn to cite the source correctly in my paper. Here is an example:
As Bottles mentioned in his article, “Privacy laws have been “notice and consent”…It is difficult for an individual to give informed consent for secondary uses that are not even imagined when the data are first collected” (Bottles 10).
For learning outcome 6, I worked on diction in this paper specifically because the language started to become repetitive. I also as always tried to make sure I had commas in all the right places, but that I didn’t add too many. I can confidently say that English 110 has significantly helped me in improving on my MLA formatting and local revision process.
