Pre-Writing Activities

Here are my pre-writing activities.

Timeline:

Making the timeline was very beneficial. It gave me a visual representation of all the topics that I could write about. I made it so much easier to pick a topic and it was also fun to see my progression throughout the years.

Cluster:

This particular pre-writing activity wasn’t very helpful. It was fun to reflect on a particular place, but it didn’t help me very much with the actual writing process. I used bubbles to help me group topics and thoughts together. At first I thought it would be a topic to write about, but this activity made me realize that it wasn’t going to work out the way I originally thought it would.

Interesting Study Spaces

Being on campus for a few weeks now has given me time to explore campus, particularly places to study. I have found that study with my friends, in someone else’s dorm, can be very useful–especially when you have questions about classes you are in together. I also enjoy studying in the lounge of my dorm. It’s the perfect spot to not only study, but do some laundry. Although these places are nice settings to study in, I wanted to find more. This weekend I explored the library and the Bush deck. The library was great because it was super quiet which allowed me to get so much accomplished. The deck was also great because after I had been studying for a while, I just wanted some fresh air which the deck allowed. Although it was outside, it was still a mostly quiet place to get some work done. It’s also an excuse to get some coffee because the Windward is so close.
